If we understand the Code of Ethics, we understand our responsibilities, prioritize our obligations, and find wise resolutions to the ethical dilemmas we face. It supports us in doing what's right. Early childhood educators need a framework for ethical decision-making. The code includes principles of respect for children, integrity, and professional responsibility. It helps educators to think critically about the decisions they make and how they may impact the children in their care. One of the principles in the code of ethics is respect for children. This means that educators should always treat children with dignity and respect and should never use abusive or punitive measures. The code encourages educators to put the needs o children first and to make decisions that are in the best interests of the children. Another principle is integrity. Meaning that educators should always conduct themselves with honesty and integrity. We should never knowingly do anything that would harm the children in care. Communicating with parents/guardians about the childs' education and development to help them understand and appreciate the current knowledge base of the early childhood profession. The code of ethics encourages educators to act with professional responsibility. We should always behave in a way that upholds the value and standards.

I have responsibilities to the mother and her child, as well as other families that are awaiting a spot in the center. The center should consider granting the mother a grace period or other arrangements to help her catch up on tuition payments. The child is already enrolled in the center and is being taken care of by his grandmother, there is no need to remove him immediately. When we do not agree with program policies, we shall attempt to effect change through constructive action within the organization, P-4.11When policies are enacted for purposes that do not benefit children, we have a collective responsibility to work to change these policies.
I feel that P-4.11 is the best applicable because we have a responsibility of doing what's best for the child. Even though we have other families that are waiting for a spot, being kicked out of the program may have a negative impact on the child. Yes, the mother is in jail awaiting bail, but he/she has the grandmother taking care of him/her. Best/worst-case scenario the grandmother pays the arrears and pulls him/her out because she can't afford it. That's when we come to P-2.15We shall be familiar with and appropriately refer
