As I embarked on this weeks searches to find the First Woman of my choice, I stumbled upon the first-ever woman elected president of Slovakia. Her name is Zuzana Caputova; a former lawyer and civil society activist that had no previous political knowledge. At age 45, she is also the youngest person to win the presidency in the history of Slovakia. The fact that she was able to become president in a Central European country that has strong Eastern European influences speaks volumes on how determined and capable to hold this role she is, and how finally people have learned to embrace women as strong leaders in society.
