Different industries experience the legal environment differently. For example, issues that are of utmost importance in the medical insurance industry are much different than issues of utmost importance in the herbal supplements or aroma therapy industry. The pharmaceutical, medical devise, vaccines, and biotechnology industries are all examples of industries that help shape, and respond to, legislation and administrative rules.

This semester, you will submerse yourself in a particular industry. NOTE: Upon selection of a particular industry, you may select an organization of interest relating to the chosen industry). For example 1, The Retail Industry and Macys as the organization of focus. For example 2, the Food Industry, use McDonalds as the organization of focus. The recommended steps are as follows:

You will (1) select an industry of interest (church, higher education, healthcare organizations, technology industry, retail, food industry, sports industry. See list of industries submitted by the professor. May use domestic or international industries of interest. CHOOSE INDUSTRY THAT YOU ARE MOST FAMILIAR WITH

Research/Review information about the legal issue(s) that are important to the industry/organization.

Prioritize the issues and select 1 of interest to you. You may share more than 1 issue if you choose to do so.

Using a business law perspective, state and elaborate on the legal issue (s) and how it may or may not have an impact society (businesses, family, shareholders, analysts, employees, customers, future generation, etc.).

5. Provide a conclusion/summary.

Cover Page: Title of Industry, Your Name, Nyack College and Date

2. Executive Summary Short version including 4-5 lines providing a simple

overview of what has been included in your paper (end of paper development).

Introduction Background context including a description of the industrys organization (several paragraphs) and other pertinent information of interest that you would like to share with the class (vary in nature) including a purpose.

Body

Issue Analysis Gather/review data and look for information related to your analysis goals.

Interpret the information Identify and document pertinent information uncovered during your review.

Alternative Perspective/Rationale, if any.

Justification (Decision)

Conclusions Reflects the overall idea of the legal issue and what has been presented in the entire paper. It also summarizes the various findings relating to the issue (s).
