There is no better way to learn the art of project management than to create a project of your own, and apply PM methodologies to create your digital innovation!

Background:

We will create a technology$-$infused product, service, or system that you will project$-$manage. Assume your project is being created for venture capitalists$$investors with the necessary funds but no experience or expertise in your planned technological enterprise or service. They simply have "laypeople" awareness.

As a result, this project proposal serves as a vehicle for illustrating, explaining, and justifying your project utilizing project management methodology.

The ability to express our unique ideas to an audience will not only assist to fund the project from investors, but will also help to "sell" your digital products or services to the market. This helps us in learning the skills essential for successful project management.

To do:

Brainstorm and develop a unique digital product or service, which you will project$-$manage with, that solves problems or issues in business, or has a consumer, user, or market need, in the context of the project scope $($Chapter $5).$

In this context, the following methodologies will help you in achieving project management success:

Project Charter is the document that $$recognize the project existence and provides direction on project objectives and management. It also authorizes the project manager to use resources to complete the project.$$

Work Break Structure $($WBS$)$ is a $$deliverable$-$oriented grouping of the work involved in a project that defines its total scope.$$

Format

Length: minimum $4$ pages $(11\mathrm{.}5$ font, $1\mathrm{.}5$ line$-$spacing$),$ not including reference. All work should be contained in one single file to be submitted.

Anything non$-$original needs to be cited: including in$-$text citations and reference at the end.

Provide verifiable and convincing facts; do not take anything for granted. Explain and justify your narratives.

A$.$ Backgrounds$/$ Introduction of your proposed digital innovation project:

Why is the project being developed, and what niche or unique opportunity it seeks$$after all, there are many other qualified competitors. That is$,$ how to convince investors that your concept is unique, and how$/$why only you have the capability and prowess for this uniqueness?

To highlight the originality of your planned idea, compare it to similar products$/$services$.$ Include strategic narratives on how and why this project will be a great vehicle for your project team $($carrying out your proposed project$)$ to achieve its goals.

Follow relevant materials in Chapter $4$ to develop your narratives such as strategy planning $/$ project selection, etc.

B$.$ Develop project charter $($following textbook Table $5-2$ as the template$)$

$$ Feel free to use figurative names for all personnel

$$ Add justifications and explanations to the following items: milestone, budget information, project objectives, success criteria, approach, and personnel roles, and responsibilities

C$.$ Develop work breakdown structure $($WBS$),$ and WBS dictionary$$in a tabular format.

$$ Following the format of Table $5\mathrm{.}4,$ demonstrate a two$-$level $($that is$,$ two levels of $1\mathrm{.}1$ and $1\mathrm{.}1\mathrm{.}1)$ WBS that satisfies what developed in A$.$ in the most effective and efficient way.

$$ Reasonableness $($e$.$g$.,$ necessity$/$ work package development$),$ completeness, sequence, and logic are important. Specify any reasonable assumptions clearly to cater to the need of layperson$-$level knowledge.

$$ Use breakdowns $($deliverables$,$ sub$-$deliverables etc.$)$ with appropriate coding $($format: e$.$g$.,1\mathrm{.}1,$ and $1\mathrm{.}1\mathrm{.}1).$

$1.$ Establish at least $20$ activities, for the lowest$-$level tasks $($or work package$1\mathrm{.}1\mathrm{.}1-$ leveled activities$).$

$2.$ Add one additional column titled $$WBS dictionary$$ to the right, explaining and justifying why and how each work package is there$$including meaning, logic, necessity, etc. $($A succinct version of textbook Table $5-6$ will be good$)$

$$ The style and format: the $1\mathrm{.}1-$level should be boldfaced, while $1\mathrm{.}1\mathrm{.}1$ level not.

How do we know the product $/$ service we are brainstorming with is suitable, a good one?

Your chosen topic must have a technological component$$in a broad sense from our digital world, such as hardware, software, platform, device, equipment, appliance, or any company that incorporates digital product or service in its operations. For example, the development of a small system, a smart technology device, a technology venture$/$start$-$up based on analytics, AI or blockchain, or a busin
