The Cold War impacted global relationships and power structures. Although many relationships were being built, others were broken. For example, the United States broke off diplomatic relations with Cuba and promoted an invasion of Cuba by Cuban Exiles at the Bay of Pigs. In addition, they attempted to remove Castro from power. As expected, Cuba allies with the Soviet Union and Castro declared Cuba to be a communist state. However, later on the relation between the Soviet Union and the United States improved. This occurred due to President Reagan forming a close relationship with Gorbachev. They both agreed that an arms race would be costly and endanger economic reforms for their country. Therefore an arms control agreement was discussed between them. This brought along a power structure since the United States and Soviet Unions number of nuclear missiles had increased. Evidently this brought along concerns about potential nuclear war. Both were and still continue to be very powerful. I think WWII influenced the beginning of any modern war. Due to the fact inventions such as technology brought along digital communication and sparked technological disruption. This marked the movement that took many decades to fully develop to what it is now. These two documents reveal that the United States was willing to do anything and everything in their power to prevent conflicts overseas. Despite them discovering an atomic bomb, which can take the life of hundreds of thousands of individuals, they were willing to use it if necessary against Japan. Their strategy to prevent conflicts overseas consisted of always being prepared for the worse and having a plan of action.
