Hi my name is Amber, and I am pursuing a degree in Business Administration. I am a vendor and sell my items at different venues. I use data frequently to determine which venue would be most profitable for me to attend. I mainly consider the price of the event, location, prior years' attendance, time of year, and what other vendors will be selling at the event. I consider all these factors before deciding which event to participate in.

Susan should not use cluster sampling to determine the movie. Cluster sampling divides the population into groups, or clusters, based on some characteristics and then randomly selecting a cluster. This will not give an accurate account of the classroom. The classroom consists of different genders and grades. Choosing from one of these groups will result in selection bias.

Using random sampling would be a good option. Using a simple random sampling from the classrooms will eliminate the possibility of any bias. This is the best option to select from a population and the sample to be mostly equal.

A sample is a specific group from the population which is the entire group. A coed softball team is the population and female players on the team is the sample. This is an example of cluster sampling because it is based on a group based on a specific characteristic being gender. Using the coed team as the population, collecting data using a random sample could reduce or eliminate any bias of the population.
