Discussing naming convention and format: VERY IMPORTANT!

Consider a table representing parents. A parent has a unique and required

name, a date of creation, and an optional integer "age" $($for demo, only.

No database person would store a person's age! It would be calculated

from the person's birth date.$)$

A table representing children: a child has a unique & required name, a required

field representing the child's parent that references the parent table, a doc,

and a text field representing their favorite recording artist $($optional$).$ That

the foreign key is required means $"$no orphans". $($A NULL foreign key causes what

is known as an "orphan" record.$)$
