Discussion #12: Intersectionality ~ Welcome to Discussion Board #12! We will use the concept of intersectionality to deepen your understanding of three previous topics (stratification, gender, and race), and apply the concept to reflect on your own lived experiences. After learning about the concept of intersectionality, think of an example from your own life where you have experienced \"privilege.\" You can think of \"privilege\" as something you didn't make efforts to earn but enjoy some advantages. In other words, privilege means when you benefit in some way based on your social location (age, gender, race/ethnicity, social class, ability, educational attainment, etc.). At first, some of you might feel that you've never experienced any privilege, but try to think a little harder and dive in the concept a little bit deeper.
