Justice ethics, I've learned, centers on upholding obligation, equity, and fairness through established principles and rules. It's methodical and focuses on holding offenders accountable using standardized procedures. The appeal lies in its structured approach, detached from emotions, but I find it disheartening that despite its efforts, it sometimes fails to prevent repeat offenses. In the restorative justice video, I observed how the victim's family, despite the trauma, forgave and engaged with one of the offenders. This act of forgiveness and the meeting itself played a pivotal role in their healing process, embodying care ethics by prioritizing their recovery.
