- Goal Revision
- A Way ForwardAction
Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:
- In the Identified GapsObstacles section, describe obstacles that might prevent the focus areas you previously identified moving from current state to future state. Consider the following in your response:
- Skill gaps, organizational culture, and resources among other things.
- In the Goal Revision section, for each of the goals you created previously, describe whether they need to be revised:
- For the goals that do need to be revised, provide a revision and explain your changes based on obstacles you identified above.
- For the goals that do not need to be revised, provide rationale for why this goal should remain the same. Support your response.
- In the A Way ForwardAction section, recommend an actionable step that should be taken in order to close the gap between current state and desired future state for each identified focus area and related goal. Your response should include the following for each actionable step:
- An explanation on what the step will entail
- Identification of stakeholders who will need to be involved
- Justification for how this step will help close the gap between current state and desired future state.
ANSWERS FROM THE GROW model template began in Module Two.
RealityCurrent State
- Recognition & Praise: The current state of this focus area is not so good. The employees are not feeling like they are being recognized and praised the way they should be. They are not feeling as if they are being encouraged to express their ideas to their leader. If the results continue to stay this way this could possibly lead to larger employee turnovers.
- Reward & Recognition: This focus area in a way coincides with the above focus area as they somewhat in a way have the same issues. The current state of this focus area also shows that the employees do not feel they are being rewarded for their hard work within the company. The employees are not feeling as if their work matters to the company. This could put a bad taste in the employees' mouth and result in employees putting out a bad word for the company and their leadership teams possibly resulting in new hires not wanting to work for the company.
- Training & Development: The current state of this focus area shows the employees feel as if their leaders do not care enough to help them set goals as to what they want to come from their training and development. This could result in the employees not setting obtainable goals and result in failure. If the employees fail it very well could result in the project the employee was working on fails.
Desired Future StateWhere Would You Like to Be?
- Recognition & Praise: A goal to address this could be creating a monthly training meeting for the leaders to address the moral of their teams. Complete monthly surveys with the employees to see where they sit on how their leaders have or have not reached this goal. The impact this would be a raise in confidence within the employees. If the employees are more confident and feel like they matter they will create better work environments for their teammates. This would increase the employee customer relationship due to happy employees wanting to make the customers happy as well.
- Reward & Recognition: Again, due to this focus area being similar to the above focus area they could both benefit from similar goals.
- Training & Development: This focus area could also benefit from similar goals as above. The leaders need to be more involved with their teams and learn what their desires are. They need to learn what they want out of their job positions. A goal here could be to get the team and the leaders in a meeting once a month and learn about each other as far was what they set as goals for where they would like to go with the things they have learned or the things they want to learn. Continued training and development from the employees and the leaders lead to continued growth within the company and a continued growth for the company.
