Exercise 03 - Stakeholder Communications Introduction In this exercise, we look back at a construction project planned at the UTSA main campus starting in 2011. Please read the specifications of the project and then answer the questions in the "Analysis section. Upload your completed file using the filenaming convention indicated in the assignment folder instructions. Specifications (May 4, 2011)-Construction of a roundabout is planned at the intersection of John Peace Boulevard and Margaret Tobin Avenue on the north side of the UTSA Main Campus. The roundabout will ease traffic congestion at the busy intersection. Construction of the roundabout would begin in late spring 2013, subject to funding availability, with planned completion before the start of the fall 2013 semester. The project will result in the removal of a segment of John Peace Boulevard from the intersection with Margaret Tobin Avenue to the southern entrance of parking lot 3. The roundabout would be similar to the one at the intersection of George Brackenridge Avenue and Sam Barshop Boulevard on the southwest side of the UTSA Main Campus. Vehicles entering the roundabout yield to vehicles already in the circle. The advantages of roundabouts over conventional intersections are increased safety and less congestion. One segment of the loop road planned for the east side of the Main Campus and connecting Margaret Tobin Avenue to James Bauerle Boulevard on the north will be part of the East Parking Garage project. This segment will provide access to the east garage, parking lots 3 and 4, the Main Building and the Business Building. It would allow for the eventual removal of John Peace Boulevard to make way for a collegiate-style quadrangle indicated in the master plan. During construction of the roundabout, the segment of the campus loop road will provide full access to the east garage, parking lots 3 and 4, the Main Building and the Business Building. Analysis Step 1: Assume you represent the contractor responsible for this construction project. Now identify three to five significant stakeholders who will be impacted by this project or the results of this project. Step 2: Now your task is to select a single significant stakeholder. Consider this stakeholder and answer the following questions: A. What is the particular stake? Would you consider this stakeholder to be an internal stakeholder or an external stakeholder? Is this stakeholder primarily impacted by the project process or its intended result? B. What do you need to learn from this stakeholder? C. What information do you need to share with this stakeholder? D. What is the best medium to use to convey the information you need to share? E. When and how often will you need to communicate the information you need to share
