Transcript of Respondent Ones Interview

I: Describe your overall experience of using VLE at University?

R.1: My overall experience of using VLE at University is not that too long, because VLE has just launched before 2, 3 months and I have used VLE for my course assignment and it was good using VLE because it is new experience of using VLE.

I: What are the general advantages of using VLE?

R.1: The general advantages of using VLE is that you can submit your assignments online at a particular website of the University and by using VLE you let to know about different applications of University website and you can submit your assignments and quizzes and whatever you want to submit their and like the most beneficially of using VLE is that you did not submitted to your teachers by going one by one or by giving papers to teachers you can professionally submitted online. You can download lectures of your teachers from the website too. Quizzes are also done online by some teachers now.

I: What are the disadvantages of using VLE?

R.1: The disadvantages of using VLE I found while submitting my assignment was that it is too time consuming if 1 hour has been given to submit your assignment so after 1 hour you cannot submit the assignment because VLE assignment submission option stops so this is the most disadvantage of using VLE I faced and so whenever I submitting my assignments I found very disadvantage like the time limit was too short like if you are 1 minute late so you cannot submit your assignments. Internet problem also makes sometimes using VLE very difficult, and the assignments are not submitted on time. And some teachers also dont put the lectures on VLE. It is also a problem.

I: What are the challenges of using VLE?

R.1: The challenges I faced after using VLE for the first time was that I was not able to found the option of submitting the assignments. I found it very hard I did not know how to use VLE so due to challenges once I was also late in submitting my assignments because I did not know where to find the options and I found it very hard at once.

I: Describe your overall experience of using VLE at University?

R.2: Well, its a great experience VLE has changed a life and make it easy for us being a student to access file assignment and pictures.

I: What are the general advantages of using VLE?

R.2: There are many advantage like you can access your lecture if you are not able to take your lecture through file server u can access when teachers upload them on VLE u can easily access them. what I have say problem during Exams I missed lectures I could not access file server as labs were very busy so VLE make my life easily to access whenever I need them. Submitting assignments to the teachers is also easy now, because now I can submit my assignments from my home too. I do not need to come to university and meet the teacher for this work.

I: What are the disadvantages of using VLE?

R.2: Well, I have observed that some teachers are not uploading lectures on time and may be they are not IT lovers or maybe they are many possibilities that why they are not up to date so that the problem I have thought that their lectures were available VLE but sometimes I was disappointed.

I: What are the challenges of using VLE?

R.2: Of course, its net based, so we have to depend on net to access VLE, and sometimes net is not working. Sometimes wrong password creates the problem, whenever the password is not correct you cannot access VLE. Another thing is that sometimes, a teacher does not upload the lecture so its a challenge to access.

I: Describe your overall experience of using VLE at University?

R.3: My overall experience of using VLE was quite good; its very convenient as it can be accessed from anywhere.

I: What are the general advantages of using VLE?

R.3: General advantages of using VLE can be that all the course materials become accessible to the students automatically just by logging in, otherwise students had to access fileserver than teachers folder than copy all the files in USB, it was a long procedure. Due to VLE is has become very easy. Assignments are now online too. So I am happy that I can submit assignments anytime now, from anywhere. Test are now also conducted online, so even if I am absent from class now, I will not miss the test and will not lose marks.

I: What are the disadvantages of using VLE?

R.3: The disadvantage of using VLE is that the slow internet sometimes when students are using VLE for their online quizzes. As VLE is online, if the teachers take online quizzes and the internet speed gets slow at that time, it can get in the way of students good marks.

I: What are the challenges of using VLE?

R.3: For challenges, I must say, VLE is new in University so, some facilitators do not put the slides there, so sometimes it is hard for students to access their slides they need to go labs and download their required slides so, VLE is serving best in its way but all facilitators should upload on it to make it easier for students to access their chapters.
