Classmate 1 Question: The types of terrorism are state-sponsored terrorism, dissident terrorism, religious terrorism, criminal terrorism, and international terrorism. In my opinion, I believe that dissident terrorism is the greatest threat to the United States. Dissident terrorism is acts of terrorism committed by non-state movements and groups against governments, ethnonational groups, religious groups, and perceived enemies. Dissident terrorism is anti-state and is mainly directed at existing governments and political institutions. The main goal is to destabilize the existing government in order to build a new government. Dissident terrorists are usually associated with freedom fighters who attempt to overthrow a perceived unjust government or to establish a new state within an existing country.

Classmate 2 Question: Types of terrorism that have occurred throughout the world are state-sponsored terrorism, dissident terrorism, left and right terrorism, religious terrorism and criminal terrorism. State-sponsored terrorism is an act that occurs from the state or government. They are the ones who give out the orders. Dissident terrorism are terroristic acts against a group's own government. Left or right terrorism, both originated through politics. Religious terrorism is a worldwide tactic. This has occurred numerous times throughout the last decade. Finally, criminal terrorism is done to facilitate crime and criminal profits. The two types of terrorism that are both a threat to the United States is Radical Islamic terrorism and Right-wing terrorism found in the United States. Al Qaeda is the most visible threat to the United States. They are responsible for the 9/11 attacks, the attack on USS Cole back in 2000, and the attacks on the U.S. embassies in Tanzania and Kenya in 1998 (Gaines & Worrall, 2011). Other groups known to be Anti-American are Al Qaeda, Hezbollah, the Taliban and more. As for Right-wing terrorism, a study was conducted with questions asked to police chiefs of large towns asking for their opinions on who poses a major threat. The results showed that anti-abortion groups and White Supremacists post a major threat.

Classmate 3 Question: In research from Gaines and Worrall (2011) the different types of terrorist attacks are "state-sponsored, dissident, left and right-wing, religious, and criminal"(Gaines and Worrall (2011). I believe the most dangerous type of terrorism is state-sponsored. Essentially a state-sponsored does not have to worry about finances. Most state-run entities operate in silence when conduction espionage. This means that if China wanted to attack the U.S they could without ever using a single soldier. I personally believe they have been for the last few years. We are a large burden for Chinese Commerce whether we are in debt to them or not. Why would they attempt to fight us when they can harass us? State-Sponsored terrorism is nothing new, it will never go out of style so long as sovereign nations exist. Why do what I can get my enemy of my enemy to do, and deny any affiliation?
