Do you agree with the post below? why?

Work breakdown structure is an important element of project management process that gives the project timeline, lifecycle, hierarchy of tasks, relationship between tasks and deliverables. Project management institute defines work breakdown structure as a sum of decompositions of all work the project encompasses (Devi & Reddy, 2012). Project failures usually trace back to poorly constructed WBS. This will result in poor work assignment, rework, delays, change of scope, running out of budget, missing deadlines undelivered features etc. (Shelly et al, 2018).

Basically, there are three items that are required for a project to successfully complete, scope, schedule, and cost (Shlomo, 1994). WBS is critical for the project manager because it assists with accurate project organization, assigning responsibilities, shows control points and project milestones, allows for more accurate estimation of cost, risk, and time, and explain the project scope to stakeholders. (Devi & Reddy, 2012). In addition, with the above benefits in organizing and defining project work WBS is useful for budget allocation calculations. Integrating WBS with organizational structure could benefit the project manager to identify communication points and can make communication plan across the project. WBS also helps in identifying risk in projects. When a project is lagging schedule WBS can identify the deliverables that are affected (Shelly et al, 2018).
