Do you agree with this information? Or what is
Alex Potter 8:53pm When looking at some of these budgeting processes, zero-based budgeting is analyzing all the costs and needs in an organization and the budgets are built around those needs of that company. It is used by companies to also analyze the upcoming month's expenses, which then helps lead companies to lower spending. Applying this to the government would be very viable as it would help governments lower spending, but it also depends on what part it is going into because for governments who are looking to expand it might be tough, definitely not a long-term thing. Performance Budgeting is another form of budgeting for governments but isn't used as much as program budgeting. Performance budgeting is taken to make organizations look at the bigger picture, so you can definitely see more money spent in this form of budgeting. So an organization looking to expand I definitely like it could make for a better budgeting process. "The need to establish, for agencies, the real benefits that will accrue as a result of the practice, and the necessity that it is not viewed as only a budget-cutting exercise." "The desirability of having a statutory framework in order to promote the sustainability of the practice in changing political climates." 'The need to focus on a few useful measures so as not to overwhelm decision makers with data that have questionable value for the decisions they need to make." "The need for patience, and flexibility, if the system is to be sustained." (Lee, Johnson, & Joyce pg 195) Jr., Robert D., L. et al. Public Budgeting Systems.
