The economic concepts and tools we study are applied to explain complex, real-world events, sometimes in a simplistic and manageable way. This is designed to get you to apply the economic concepts you learn in the first weeks of this unit and apply your critica thinking to social issues. This requires you to identify and research a social issue of your interest related to specific topics covered in the first weeks of classes. You will be required to explain and analyse a particular social issue from an economics perspective applying economic concepts and tools. Note, the report is not simply an informative report on a particular social issue, but a critical analysis from an economics perspective of the social issues and the behaviour and incentives of the individuals involved. This also intends to introduce you to effective written communication in the Economics discipline Instructions: You need to identify and explain a specific Australian social issue related to the general topics provided below. Guiding questions are also provided to help you understand and analyse the social issue.
