Does this mean that, perhaps, there is a failure in ethics in the business arena because the people who go into business already cheat? Or is it that business students are aware that the business arena demands this type of unethical conduct they prepare themselves for it form the start?
I don't believe everyone in the business arena already cheats, many have morals that create their checks and balances. While there will be business people who do cheat, that is because they chose that they wanted to cheat and are ethically ok with it.
The truth is that we often benefit from unethical acts, from gaining something as simple as a positive work review to something as significant as a salary package of $180 million. Greed and temptation are often all around us and any person can succumb to it.(Hartman, p.23)

How do you think those numbers compare to Yakima Valley College? Do you think they are different for different disciplines (nursing vs. business)?
Cheating at YVC I would assume it might be higher in disciplines where you are learning more in a book rather than hands-on learning like a nursing student, or a mechanic.
What are your thoughts about cheating in college?
I do not believe anyone gains anything positive out of cheating. When you are in college you are studying about what you want to be in the future. The thing you are cheating on is the stuff you will need to know in your profession, so the thing you are hurting the most is yourself.
What are your thoughts about cheating in your profession/career/industry?
I do not believe cheating benefits anyone. When people do it in their profession it makes them untruthful and could be illegal in some areas. I think one of the leading reasons for cheating happens is when the reward is too high, such as a stockbroker. Where they are handling customers' money and the temptation is there.
It is not unusual for those in business to be presented, almost daily, with opportunities to personally profit by violating the law or by harming or misleading others. The stakes can be enormous, especially when a big transaction or career-making decision is involved.
