Draw the structural system (beams, columns, and curtain walls) of the givenplan using the following regulations
Earthquake resistant structural system organization is essential
Four floors are Reinforced Concrete (RC), fifth floor is Steel / Timber Reinforced Concrete structure is a two-way sytem (TASK 1)
TASK 1a : RC framed+shear wall structure formwork
a) In ground floor, the names, spacings of columns, beams and shear walls as well as the axes will be defined (scale: 1400). Column and beam sizes will be approximate in this stage.
Do not forget to make hatch patterns of columns and shear walls.
b) Twin structural members should be seen clearly in seismic joints.
c) For each plan separated by seismic joint, the position and m2 of shear walls in the short direction will be chosen in accordance with the Chile criteria (See next page). For shear walls in the longitudinal direction, if the ratio of total length in longitudinal direction to one in short direction is 1.5, the shear walls (m2) will be 0.7 times of the short direction, 0.5 for 3,0.3 for 4 will be taken. Shear wall areas should be compared with 2018 Turkish Regulation as well.
Rules on the organization of shear walls in two perpendicular directions:
2018 Regulations :
A2= In any im storey, total cross-sectional area of shear walls in the parallel direction which resists to earthquake
Ap= Total planar area of building
Ap,iAp0.002
Chile Regulations :
A2= in any imm storey, total cross-sectional area of shear walls in the parallel direction which resists to earthquake
Ap= Planar area of im storey
