Learning Outcome - To develop a Master Product Data Sheet (ie Master SKU Spreadsheet) as well as an Internal Naming Convention for a company (ie framework, rules/SOP)
1. Your company, will be chosen from the Week 1- forum. Every student must pick/reserve a unique company from the list provided. First come first served.
2. Excel File: Create a well-developed Master Product Data Spreadsheet using Excel that is specific (ie relevant) to the company of choice, with proper Excel formatting and in readable/legible format. Your Excel document would be the master working file for the company that holds all pertinent information regarding all of their Finished Goods. The below is the minimum requirement:
a. SKUs created for each product on their entire product offering (on their website). You should have one completed row of information for each unique finished good.
b. Internal names developed for each product these should be simple, scalable, searchable
c. Items must be differentiated by their different variations (ie parent-child) it is up to you to determine what are the relevant categories to track (ie colour, pack size, product categories)
d. Product/industry specific information evident via columns headings developed and pertinent information filled in (assumptions can be made ie you can make up supplier code- just ensure the final Excel file is completely filled in)
e. NOTE: if the company offers BUNDLES of multiple products, no need to create a row for those.
3. Word Doc: Develop a well written professional document that outlines the rules you have developed as well as your explanation (ie critical analysis) that outlines:
a. Internal Naming Convention for distribution to internal stakeholders - ie what are your rules for naming products internally. Ie if a new product were developed and added to the portfolio, someone in the company would need to provide an internal name for it. They would use this naming convention as a guideline to follow when giving it a name.
b. Explanation and rationale to me highlighting your critical analysis of why you have used this naming convention.

Excel File /20 points
1. Completeness 40%- create a thorough and completely filled in excel document that could be used as the organizations running Master Product Data Sheet or Master SKU. Columns/information chosen are conclusive of the industry chosen. Information for all the products are filled in (assumptions and some made up information is OK). Pertinent information for the product master SKU sheet are not missing
2. Relevancy & Analysis 50%- the columns/heading information chosen are relevant to the chosen company/industry and applied correctly. Evident understanding of the concepts and correct application of those concepts to the company ie your SKUs that you develop should be relevant to the company and the products they offer.
3. Writing/Format/Professionalism 10%- Excel file is formatted, easy to read and looks good and professional. Words are bolded/underlined as necessary, use of color as applicable. Formatting (ie width of cells is appropriate). Words are not cut off. No spelling and grammatical errors.

a. Organizational Internal Naming Convention in professional SOP format with the intent of distributing to the organizations internal stakeholders. Ie an easy to read process of the rules of how the organization assigns names to products. This naming convention should match your Excel File. Use of examples is encouraged.
b.1-page explanation (to me) of why you developed the above internal naming convention the way you did. This will show your approach and understanding of the process to validate your critical thinking and application of course concepts.
