During the define phase, there was a deep dive into the various steps of the process. It was found that 6% of the time a pay period report was requested, the information was not complete and a request had to be sent back to the client for more data which delayed the process. Once all the information was correct, it was found that 5% of the time the wrong algorithm was used to process the data. Once the right algorithm was being used it was found that 11% of the time the wrong amounts were being withheld for at least 1 employee.

Using this information and considering there to be 3 steps: data entry, algorithm selection, withholding calculations, find the RTY or first pass yield for this process.
