Assessment Overview
This assessment is a mandatory submission, which means that in order to pass
this unit of study, you must submit this assessment.
For this assignment, you will be working in groups to develop an E-Business
plan for an existing organisation of your choice. Your submission will be in two
parts:
1. a report (30%)
2. a group presentation (5%).
This assessment supports unit learning outcomes 3,4 and 5.
Assessment details
Working in groups of 5 members, this assignment requires your group to apply
the learning from Modules 1-10 in developing an E-Business plan for an
existing organisation of your choice. You may choose any organisation to work
on for this assessment, however, you must ensure that you have access to the
information required to develop an E-Business plan. Please consult with your
Lecturer about the appropriateness of this choice.
Your submission will be in two parts:
1. a report
2. a group presentation.

The following steps outline how this assessment should be approached.
Step 1: Form your group.
Students are to be organised into a group by Week 5.
Step 2: Choose your organisation.
As a group, select the organisation for which you will develop an E-Business
plan. It can be based anywhere in the world, Large or small business.
Step 3: Develop your report.
Create the report using the following structure (no. of words is provided as a
guide).
1. Introduction explain what your plan is all about (200 words)
2. Background - provide a brief summary of the new/improved E-Business
initiative/the product or service/the organisation (300 words)
3. Analysis includes an outline of:
o Industry, market (i.e. buyers) and competitors (400 words)
o Positioning, Value Proposition, Key Segments / Target Market
(400 words).
4. Action plans and recommendations: Include areas that are relevant to
your plan, such as a. Technology (hardware/software/cloud computing -
SAAS model); b. Improved areas such as security/payment
methods/order fulfillment/customer service); c. Marketing areas, such as
website design, social media, mobile marketing, SEO and SEM, online
advertising (The total no. of words for this section is 1000 words).
5. Conclusion (200 words)
6. References (use the Harvard referencing method). There is no minimum
or maximum number of references. Use what you think is necessary for
your plan.
7. Appendix (not compulsory to use).
One group member uploads the REPORT onto Assessment No.3 report
Turnitin link, before the due date.

Step 4: Create your Presentation.
Create a 5-minute VIDEO with a maximum of five (5) slides (PER GROUP).
One person in the group VIDEO link onto Assessment No.3 Presentation
(Turnitin) before the due date.
Additional considerations for the report
Note that the focus is on developing and implementing the E-Business
plan. It is not a review or audit of an organisations E-Business
capabilities.
Use examples and images to help explain your plan. Dont describe
things apply the concepts.
The plan is to be 1.5-spaced (a standard 12-point font should be used).
Ensure your plan maintains an appropriate standard in writing. It should
be checked for spelling, consistency, and clarity of expression.
Submission details
The report will be submitted through Turnitin as a .DOC or .DOCX or .PDF
files.
The report and presentation are uploaded separately onto Turnitin - See the
Assessment No.3 area for the Turnitin submission links.
