E M3/D1: 2/24 - 3/4 While there are many perspectives on leadership, one is based on the notion of personality traits. Many of you may be familiar with the Big Five Personality Trait Theory. This is discussed quite widely in academic as well as so-called "pop psych" literature. For an easy-to-read overview, see The Five Big Personality Traits. Briefly, the theory posits five relatively stable traits that influence how we make decisions and in what environments we are likely to thrive or experience stress based on our individual trait profile. The five traits include agreeableness, extroversion, openness to new experiences, conscientiousness, and neuroticism.
