Each person in the group will interview 2 people for the job title of your choice (e.g., sales person). The group as a whole will come up with interview questions for the job analysis. You will then each interview 2 person with the following criteria:
The person with the job title (i.e., a sales person)
The supervisor of the person (i.e., sales manager)
A colleague of the person (i.e., another sales person)
A person who reports to the person (i.e., sales intern)
Stakeholders who are connected to the person (i.e., customer who deals with the person)
Next, you will use this information to create a job description and job specification.
*Important things to consider:
You need to choose as a team, one job type (e.g., sales, data analyst, lawyer, etc.)
, The people you interview do not have to be related to the person holding the job title. For example, the supervisor can be anyone who supervises a sales manager.
Interviews can be done via email, telephone, in-person, zoom, etc.
, Failure to contribute interview data will make you ineligible to complete the group project.
Interview transcripts must be handed by the due date (see course schedule). This part is individual. Failure to hand this in will make you ineligible to participate in the group project.
, Each person is to complete 2 interviews. If you have 5 people in your group you need 10 interviews.
Selection criteria:
Once you've completed the job description and the job specification you are to create a job posting and design a set of selection criteria (how will you select the best candidate?). How you choose this should be related to the job analysis you found. For instance, biodata, personality tests, credentials, etc. You must also include an interview guide because nearly all jobs have interviews. This is not the same as the job analysis interview. This is the traditional interview for selecting job candidates.
