This will require each student to research non$-$profits in the community and determine what non$-$profit organization is needed in the community.Choose Your Type of Nonprofit: Identify the specific type of nonprofit you want to create.Create a Mission Statement: Once a non$-$profit is determined, students will write a mission statement outlining your organization's short$-$ and long$-$term goals. Form a Board of Directors: Students will assemble a board of directors who will serve in an advisory role and deal with structural and legal issues. What will the board of directors look like? Ex$.$ How many? Board member's titles and responsibilities?Develop a Business Plan and Budget: Create a business plan and budget to determine how much money will be required to operate the organization for the first year. $($You will be provided with a budget, and you will disperse the money within your non$-$profit.$)$Name Your Faith$-$Based Nonprofit Organization: Give your nonprofit an identity as well as core values so people will think of it as a well$-$known and respected charitable organization.Determine Your Faith$-$Based Nonprofit Organization Business Model: Your business model will determine how your nonprofit makes money and how you will achieve your mission.Remember, starting a non$-$profit organization requires critical thinking, commitment, patience, and a lot of hard work.Each student will create a portfolio with all the information above. Make sure that all aspects are a part of your portfolio.Select Only a Non$-$Profit That's Needed in Your Community: This will require students to research their community and determine what non$-$profit would be best for the community.Showcase A Unique and Creative Non$-$Profit: Your portfolio should reflect your individuality and showcase your skills.Go for Variety: Choose examples that show a full range of your abilities.Decide on How Many Pieces to Include: The person who views your portfolio may only have limited time to go through the entirety of it$,$ so consider planning your layout in such a way that you can communicate important pieces of information easily.Do You Need a Physical Portfolio?: If your work uses mediums that are best experienced in the physical format, then consider making a physical portfolio.
