EEE 4361C Electronics 2 with Laboratory Experiment 1 DC Coupled Wideband Amplifiers using BJTs. You are chartered to provide a DC Coupled Wideband BJT Amplifier which does not use negative feedback. The goal is to obtain the largest gain-bandwidth product while the amplifier operates in Open-Loop. A prototype Amplifier has been identified as a candidate having the potential of meeting the gain band-width requirement. A detailed study of these amplifiers is being carried out to determine the overall impact of Open-Loop operation and Stability. The study begins with simulations of the amplifier to confirm dc and active mode operation of the transistors. Next, simulations begin to find the Open-Loop gain and bandwidth without negative feedback. Later work includes building and characterizing the frequency response of each amplifier in the laboratory. Laboratory results are then compared to ADS simulation results to confirm proper operation of the BJT amplifiers. BJT wideband amplifiers can have high open loop gain with the potential for undesired oscillations due to wiring up the amplifier on the breadboard. While the amplifier is powered up, turn off the signal generator and check for oscillations (using the oscilloscope) before attempting to measure an amplifier. It is expected that after
