Eiger Ltd. Eiger Lid. makes two different models of ice axe using the same factory and equipment. They are the Popular, a mass market axe, and the Expert, for the very experienced mountaineer. The annual production overhead of 892,000 has been analysed over five activities as is shown in Table 3.11. The cost drivers have been identificd and counted and the cost driver nates bave been calculated. Production of the Expert is much more complex and it is produced in smaller botches and in shorter production runs. The Popular requires 1 hour and 40 minutes of machine time per product, whilst the Expert requires 3 hours.
