example, one module requires $25$ units of component A$.$ Thus, to fulfill the order, and allowing

for possible defective items that have to be discarded, Elmer needs at least $3500$ xx$25=87500$

units of component A$.$ Similarly for other components $($see the table below for other units of other

components used$).$ EJFI purchases these components in bulk from possibly different suppliers across

the globe. The Local Content Rule for Auburn states that $60\%$ of the value of all purchases

made by Elmer's company must be procured from US suppliers. EJFI wishes to minimize purchasing

costs while satisfying the local content rule. The purchasing department found the cheapest US and

international suppliers respectively in Lima, Ohio, and Mumbai, India. Assume that the quality level

between competing suppliers is similar and price is the only meaningful difference. The table below

provides the purchasing cost for each component, along with the amount of each component used
