For your final global paper, you will continue to think about the early childhood issue of partnership. You will consider what it looks like between early childhood education programs/educators and families in the United States compared to a country or region of your choosing. You will think about how views on partnership might vary globally and locally, and why this is important for us to consider as current and future early childhood educators. The paper will take place in 2 stages, followed by submission of the Final: Global Paper. In this paper you will use 6 scholarly sources to answer the following research questions.

Research Questions:

  1. How do early childhood programs/teacher and family partnerships vary from the United States to ___(insert country of your choice- jamaica)_____ ? Why is this information important for early childhood educators and programs?

Stage 1:In Stage 1, you will submit a) your 6 chosen scholarly sources, and b) your completedGlobal Paper - Stage 1 organizer linked here.

  1. Country or Region:Identify which country or region you will explore. Be sure that there is research available for your country or region.Recommendation: Focus on a non-European country/region, as historically much of the focus has been given to European countries/regions.
  2. Literature: Identify your 6 scholarly sources (e.g., book chapters, journal articles, etc.) that will help you discuss early childhood program/teacher - family partnerships in the United States, early childhood program/teacher - family partnerships in your country/region of choice, and the theory that will guide your work (e.g., Bronfenbrenner's Bioecological theory). These articles must be uploaded in the Stage 1 assignment, along with the graphic organizer described next.
  3. Graphic Organizer: These articles must be uploaded along with You must complete theGlobal Paper - Stage 1 organizer linked here. The organizer will help you consider the key pieces of each article you selected, and how they will help you construct your paper.

Stage 2: Submit a draft of your research paper! Take the parts of your graphic organizer and questions and shape them into a 6 - 8 page research paper. Your paper should include a: Cover Page, Introduction, Body, Discussion, Conclusion, References.

In the Introduction, you should:

  • Start your paper by letting your readers know you will be discussing the issue of partnership, what partnership is, and why it is important to consider. Then you should discuss:
  • Your research question(s) you will be exploring in your paper,
  • Why this question is important to consider, and
  • What you believe to be the answer to the research question before you start (hypothesis).
  • Then, before you go into the body of your paper, let your audience know what they may expect to read about in the rest of the paper.

In the Body of the paper, you should discuss:

  • Which theory helps you think about your research question? Why? How does it relate to your research? As you write about this, be sure you are citing the sources that support your points and where you read about the ideas, as well as discussing how the sources support your points.
  • What did your research findings tell you about the answer to your research question? How does partnership between early childhood programs/educators and families compare between your country/region and the United States? As you write about this, be sure you are citing the sources that support your points, as well as discussing how the sources support your points.

In the Discussion of the Paper you should discuss:

  • Did your findings support what you believed to be the answer to the research question before you started your research? Why or why not?
  • Based on your findings, what recommendations do you have for early childhood educators/programs to consider?

In your Conclusion, you should:

  • Remind your readers of the research question you explored, and briefly share how your paper answered these questions. Let your readers know why this information is important for early childhood educators and families.
