1. What disasters does California hospitals need to be prepared to handle? What must the acute care hospital comply with to meet the CMS Emergency Preparedness Requirements?
 

2. Examine and discuss  your healthcare facility's Emergency Preparedness Plan or Disaster plan- what is your current role in the plan, and how should you help communicate when a disaster happens? (If you are not currently working, visit your state's hospital association and examine a summary of their emergency preparedness plan- what are disasters the state deals with, and what is the role of the nurse inpatient when a disaster happens?).
