Emotional intelligence (EI) has never been more important than it is today. As we develop a better understanding on what it takes to be successful, EI is standing out against intelligence (IQ). People with the highest levels of intelligence (IQ) outperform those with average IQs just 20 percent of the time, while people with average IQs outperform those with high IQs 70 percent of the time (Bradberry & Greaves, 2009, p. 7-8). This assessment will focus on my self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. This assessment will also explore my results of the Emotional Intelligence Appraisal and any biases that may have been a factor in the results. Most of the assessment will rely heavily on Emotional Intelligence 2.0 with supplementary support from other resources. The review will include self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. Emotional Intelligence Appraisal I took the Emotional Intelligence Appraisal on January 14th, 2020. My overall EI score was 85. My personal competence score was 79 and is comprised of self-awareness (72) and selfmanagement (85). My social competence score was 92 and is comprised of social awareness (95) and relationship management (89)
