Employee Rights Workshop:

Objective: Develop a workshop to inform employees about their rights in the workplace.

Topics Covered: a$)$ Right to Privacy, b$)$ Fair Labor Standards Act $($FLSA$),$ c$)$ Family Medical Leave Act $($FMLA$),$ d$)$ Workers Compensation, e$)$ Unemployment Compensation, & f$)$ Affirmative Action. Each topic must be explained in detail as to how each affects emplovees.

Project Steps:

Research: Students research and compile information on employee rights pertaining to the aforementioned Topics Covered.

Material Development Describe in detail various ways educational material$($s$)$ can inform employees of their rights under different laws. Examples of such informative material includes; brochures, posters, QR codes, online resources, etc.

$-$Written Paper: Students write a $(6)$ six page paper detailing their research of each topic in presenting to their employees. The paper must follow APA guidelines.

Visual & Audio Presentation: Students present their findings explaining key points via Power Point. Power Point not to exceed $(7)$ seven slides including title slide and reference slide. I am not asking you to rewrite the paper within a power point format. Just as you formatted your Current Events and touched upon or provided brief yet important topic points, I am asking you to do the same with the project power point.

You have flexibility in how you format the presentation. Please make sure the format flows with the outline of the paper; and select a professional business

background for the slides. Also, since this class is online you will need to provide the audio$/$voice component to it as well.

Feedback and Iteration: Gather feedback from a few of your peers, employers, fellow employees, or business professionals on how your workshop could be improved. This section should conclude your paper and discussed in your Power Point.
