Students, end-of-life issues can be a personal one. I would like for you to take a moment and think about how you have been exposed to the topic of end-of-life issues; perhaps you have lost a loved one, a pet, or a friend, or perhaps you have been thinking about your own demise. These experiences will be different for all of you. There has been much discussion over the past years surrounding the right to die and society continues to struggle with this issue. There are amazing medical breakthroughs that have helped postpone death and there have been legal movements in some states to assist persons in the right to die such as Oregon and Washington.
