ENL1829 Trigger Sheets

Sometimes, under the pressures of public speaking, we lose track of things that wed intended to say! Trigger sheets are a vital safety net when delivering a speech. They allow you the ease of mind to easily and quickly check in on the points that you had to raise, and very importantly, they allow you to not to have to hold notes (thus freeing your hands), and, when you have a larger platform to work with, they can be distributed around a room, forcing you to reposition yourself in measure with the content of your speech.

Your task:

Consider a simple process that you might do for example

• Doing laundry
• Commuting to school or work
• Brushing your teeth
• Mixing drinks
• Making a bed
• Working out
• Washing dishes
• Stringing an instrument
• Making breakfast
• Baking a cake
• Parallel parking a car
• Etc.!

If you were to present to your breakout room a one-minute speech of a How-to, broken into three (3) sections, how would you best prepare your trigger sheets for maximum effect (on yourself)?

Prepare a set of pages, using images and/or words or phrases, which you would lay on an empty surface at the front of the room (or, for our purposes, on a wall behind your camera). You should be able to see everything youd need to see from at least two meters away.
