Enlightenment values emphasize equality and individual rights. In this mode of thinking, it has become accepted that all people in any country and of any background are equal and should have equal opportunity. Modern understanding of business ethics notes that culturally accepted norms is not always the ethical choice. What may be acceptable in one culture, maybe unacceptable in another culture thereby creating a conflict.
