ESL Hosting Services (Friendly World Ltd).
FW is an idea that 2 local partners have developed. Eric Chen and John Saboto both ran ESL colleges previously and a common issue for the attending international students was a lack of extracurricular activities. With little language skills students had no idea how to find and then attend many different events in the city, nor make new friends. Thus, came the idea for FW.
Services provided:
Partner with all local ESL schools/colleges
Offer translation services Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, most European languages, Spanish and Portuguese
Arrange local trips/visits: museums, art gallery, parks
Day/overnight trips: Whistler, Victoria, whale watching
Mixers: pub nights, night clubs, restaurants, wire tastings, etc.
Assist with any issues students face: renting a place, setting up bank account
FW would make all arrangements, including bus transportation from central pick up areas near skytrain. All events to be chaperoned by staff fluent in several languages.
This service would offer stimulation and exposure to diverse events, while safe and looked after in a controlled environment.
