1. Research the following companies and how they have been involved in events where their expansion plan is called into question as a result of culture clash with the foreign country.  
   
   • McDonald's and its expansion to the market in Japan
   • Wal-Mart and its expansion to the market in Germany and India
2. Answer the following questions:
   • Assuming you are the CEO or president of the company, justify the internationalization of the company as a response to globalization.
   • Explain in your own words each of the cases in terms of what the multinational companies McDonald's and Walmart were looking for and the results obtained.
   • It describes the cultural realities faced by McDonald's and Walmart and their relationship to the cultural dimensions of Hofstede and Trompenaars.
   • Put yourself in the position of a person belonging to the affected foreign country (Japan, India or Germany). What is your perspective on the culture shock situation and how could it translate into a lack of ethics?
   • Argues about the importance of considering culture in international business management. Support your answer in the theoretical foundation presented by Hofstede and Trompenaars.
