Question:
Every month, PSE&G, my energy provider, provides a report on how much energy was used in my house relative to other homes of a comparable size. The purpose of the monthly energy reports is to show how energy-efficient my house is. Assume for the purposes of this discussion that a typical home of my size uses 110 kWh of energy per month. Assume furthermore that my home's energy reports from the latter part of 2023 revealed the following usage:
July | August | September | October | November | December |
102 kWh | 125 kWh | 100 kWh | 87kWh | 104kWh | 116 kWh |
Based on this information, we'd like to know: Did my family use less energy than in a typical home?
