Excel Assignment

Instructions

1. Open up the Excel file Life Expectancy.xlsx.
2. Use the quartile function in Excel to find all values for the 5-number summary using the Life expectancy data. Be sure to label each value.
3. Below your 5-number summary, write a complete sentence interpreting the value you found for quartile 3. Interpret does not mean explain how you found it. Interpret means describe what the number means in terms of the female life expectancy and frequency.
4. On a separate sheet of paper, draw a boxplot for this data by hand. Check for outliers using the technique described in your book. (Outliers are graphed as dots or stars.) Be sure to show all numbers in the 5-number summary on your box plot, and make sure those numbers are spaced out as appropriate.
5. Make sure your name is on the Excel file and the boxplot drawing.
6. Save the Excel file.
