The Excel project is designed to help you prepare a working financial statement analysis template that you will be able to use in the future. It will be very beneficial when you get to the Capstone course.

Excel Project: Part I Instructions

Company Information & Financial Statement Templates for Balance Sheet and Income Statement

• The first tab in your Financial Statement Analysis Template must be labeled Company Information. The following information must be included:
  • Company Name and ticker symbol
  • Industry
  • Products or services offered
  • Major competitors
• The second tab in your Financial Statement Analysis Template must be labeled Historical Income Statements.
  • Include the latest three years based on SEC filings.
• The third tab in your Financial Statement Analysis Template must be labeled Historical Balance Sheets
  • Include the latest three years based on SEC filings.
• Consider the information that you will need in Part II of the Excel Project concerning the ratio analysis. That will aid you in setting up appropriate subtotals for the balance sheets and income statements that will be needed in linking information to the ratio formulas.
