For each example below, determine the usefulness of the proposed test.

A) You are hiring for a management position. Out of 100 applicants, only 5 will be hired. Of those who currently hold the position, only half of them are considered satisfactory. You are proposing to use a measure of organizational citizenship, which has a validity coefficient of .30.

B) The Leadership Personality Profile (LPP) has an average validity coefficient of .40. You are hoping to use this measure as part of a hiring procedure. In the position you are hiring for, 90% of the current employees are considered successful. You expect that you will be hiring roughly half of the people who apply for the position.

C) You need to hire 20 new staff members, and 200 people have applied for the position. Approximately 20% of the current job-holders are successful in their role, and the proposed structured interview that you want to use has a validity coefficient of .70.
