Leveling

Groups will determine elevation gradient of the lawn area by the Health Sciences building, create a topo map and contour lines

Set up the tripod and level.

Use BM in Centennial Plaza

Layout a grid as shown.

Take the Benchmark $($BM$)$ elevation from BM by the Centennial Museum

Place the leveling rod on $BM$ to determine apparatus elevation by adding the $BM$ elevation to the reading

Move to each point $(16)$ on the grid and subtract the reading from the apparatus elevation to determine the elevation of the point.

Create a contour map from the calculated elevations.
