R$-$C TRANSIENTS

The purpose of this experiment is to illustrate the behavior of a Resistor Capacitor network as the calpacitor charges. These responses usually proceed on a time scale measured in milliseconds or microseconds and thus need an oscilloscope to display. In this experiment however we have a long time constant and can therefore take measurements at intervals of several seconds. A long time constant means large resistors and hence the voltmeter loading becomes critical.
