THE COMPANY: XJS Plastics Company YOUR POSITION: Environmental Manager THE PLACE: Roanoke, VA XJS Plastics Company, one of the largest plastic manufacturers in the United States, has always been concerned about the safe and effective disposal of plastic waste. A year ago, the CEO hired you as an environmental manager. In your brief time with the company, you have begun implementing a new, advanced program to ensure the safety of employees, the plant site, waste-disposal areas, and the general public. Communication to line management concerning the new program has been extensive. All line managers involved in waste disposal have attended a series of informative, instructional workshops covering safety factors, disposal guidelines, and notification procedures in the event of a potentially harmful situation.
