Exterro would work better for more extensive compliance and data management needs. Both systems require training up front. Legal teams must learn how to properly classify and label discovery documents. When picking which software is best for the office it is important to know the volume of data that must be supported, the level of training that needs to be done to properly handle the software, and how accessible it is (cloud-based). We want a software that works with us not makes things harder. For this specific firm I believe that Everlaw would be the way to go. Exterro is comprehensive, and while we do handle a lot of discovery, the price point, and steep learning curve are a major draw back because it could be likely that it is harder to understand and therefore more ethical challenges may occur. Mislabeling discovery can lead to missing key evidence which can look like intentional or unintentional withholding from the court, either way it can lead to sanctions. Everlaw offers robust support that is more affordable, and less of a learning curve, these features will help us to become a more efficient firm. -Dannielle. Add this to the response
