Facilities managers have a great responsibility in ensuring that an organization can achieve their goals and vision. Tompkins, White, & Tanchoco, $(2010)$ explain facilities planning has tackled a radical new significance in the previous $10$ years. Thus the facilities must be planned well in order to accommodate the organisation needs and achieve its supply chain excellence, which is:$-$

vi$.$ Velocity.

Assignment Requirements and Outcomes:

Students are required to propose the Facility Planning and Design based on a real organization related to the manufacturing sector $($any product$).$ The proposal should contain analysis on the proposed organisation in order to enhance their facilities to accommodate the current business and customers need based on their vision, mission and organisation strategy.

The students must implement the following task in order to fulfill the assignment needs:

$1.$ Choose a case study and product.

Basic requirements of the case study are as follow:

a$.$ Company core business and the business process.

b$.$ Vision and Mission.

c$.$ Company core values.

d$.$ Company product.

e$.$ Other data needed to enhance the company facilities and to support their core business.

$2.$ Information$-$sourcing through digital media.

Gathering information through digital media databases such as OUM digital library and google scholar. Information needs are related to the case study are as follows.

a$.$ Business trends of the chosen product $.$

b$.$ Facilities requirements for the proposed case study business and product.

i$.$ Infrastructure.

ii$.$ Manpower.

iii. System.

iv$.$ Technology.

$3.$ Perform SWOT Analysis of the following facilities of the proposed case study.

a$.$ Facilities System.

b$.$ Facilities Design.

c$.$ Space Planning and Management Design.

d$.$ Flow Systems and Activity Relationship.

e$.$ Material Handling.

$4.$ Facilities Planning and Design proposal based on data from SWOT analysis.
