Instructions: Create a Feasibility Report for your employer, ABC Manufacturing. The report will focus on the potential to save water and water costs, and to leave a smaller water footprint.

Background:

-Water usage is 1000 Gallons per day

-Water bills are currently $1000 a month

-No water recycling system

-Goal: Reduce water waste and water costs

Water Recycling System: $50,000; will cut water bills by 2/3 and leave a smaller water footprint. System is powered by a self-contained battery unit. There are, however, additional costs: an initial maintenance agreement for the system costs $1000 a year, and covers all parts and labor costs for the first two years. After that, any repairs associated with the system would have to be paid out of pocket. For example, average labor for any repair starts at $100 per hour. The main power unit costs about $7,000 to replace, though the average life of the units is 15 years. Battery units last about 5 years, and cost $1,000.
