For instance, I think it is good to limit your argument to only the US, but should you really look at the whole country? It seems to me that different communities have different needs and different goals.I do understand that the underlying goal is to reduce recidivism in the entire US, but that is a lofty goal. Initiatives for restorative justice, which encourage offender accountability, encourage community engagement, and treat the underlying reasons of criminal conduct, are more successful than standard punitive sentencing in lowering recidivism rates among juvenile offenders in the US.
