Given: Concrete compressive strength, fc=40MPa, yield strength of reinforcing steel, fsy=500MPa. Find other data as required.
a) Calculate the slab span length L, where L=3100+100n
[Take n= last digit of your student number. For example: your student number =18305697,n=7;L=(3100+100**7)=3800mm
Note: Use the calculated L from (a) for the further calculation in (b-c).
b) Take slab thickness Dz=150mm. Check whether Dz=150mm comply with AS3600-2018 deemed to conform span-to-depth ratio.
c) Calculate the positive moment (M+) for the interior span BC.Fd= effective design load, factored for strength. Determine the primary and secondary reinforcement for positive moment zone of span BC only.
