Fill a 1 or 2 L filter flask (a triangle-shaped flask with a 'sidearm') until water begins to spill out of the sidearm

Place the weighed beaker under the sidearm (the beaker needs to be touching the sidearm, NOT on the bench underneath it) and gently place your object on the water. Collect ALL of the water that spills out through the sidearm when the object is below the water. Your objective is to collect all of the water that is displaced by the object.

Record whether the object floats or sinks and weigh the water that spills out of the sidearm. If the object floats, use your finger to gently push the object into the water until it is fully submerged.

Weigh the water, dry the beaker and repeat the process with the next object.
