In this course, journal activities allow you to simulate actual activities in the field of finance. For example, you are asked to create emails related to specific scenarios. The sender, recipient, and subject line for these emails are not the focus of this activity. Instead, this activity focuses on the su

bstance within the body of the email itself.

Directions

Imagine that you are the financial manager of a major corporation. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has asked you to explain the reasons to consider different types of business combinations and ways to structure themjoint ventures, mergers, strategic alliances, and more. As the financial manager, you will write an email with this explanation. Assume the CEO is not a finance expert.

Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:

1. Explain the reasons to consider different types of business combinations.
2. Describe different ways to structure business combinations.
3. Utilize vocabulary and explanations suitable for a non-expert in finance to understand the communication.

What to Submit

My journal assignment needs to be 5 paragraphs in length and must address all of the rubric criteria. Your assignment should use at least two sources cited. Consider using required readings as well as news articles. Any sources used should be less than 60 days old. Using older sources may result in being asked to resubmit your work.
